Hi my name is Dhiraj!

I love food. No seriously, I LOVE food. It’s been a central aspect of almost every significant interaction I have had. Growing up, I would hang around the kitchen as my mom cooked food. When we would visit other people, my mom would always bring some food that she made. My extended family is also just as obsessed with food, there is always someone talking about the next meal when we are together. First dates involve food, parties involve food, important meetings involve food, cliche police interrogation rooms involve food. It’s a common way of welcoming someone, to break the tension.

My goal is to help breakdown the terror of cooking food. There are many barriers which hold people back from trying to cook new foods. Some recipes look like an endless novel with a million different techniques and kitchen gadgets. Other authorities of food just want to flex their knowledge of certain cuisines. Don’t be intimidated by food, and especially not by people who claim to be food experts.

While there is sometimes a right and wrong way to cook food, it’s ultimately meaningless if it’s not attainable for those who seek it. Chefs, Social Media Chefs, Food Writers, Food Critics provide an unbelievably important value to the world of food.

Cook the things which you find appealing. At the end of the day you are the one who has to eat it. But I want you expand the boundaries of your perceived skills. Push yourself to add another layer or level to your cooking. You may not be good at it the 1st time, or the 2nd, or even the 10th time, but once you do master a new skill it is forever ingrained in you.

I want to rely on unexperienced people as the authority on cooking and the experienced people on the authority of food.
